Do you like the idea of saving money, but hate the idea of
leaving the house at the crack of dawn to wait outside in long lines of people?
The entire Black Friday weekend has slowly been moving its way online. There’s
no need to wait for Cyber Monday to get all the savings you want without
leaving the house! Here are a few tips and tricks for getting all of the best
deals online during the Black Friday craze.
1. Research Deals and Make a Shopping List
Start tracking deals early and making shopping lists for all
of the things you’d like to buy. You can start doing this much earlier than you
think! Retailers seem to release their Black Friday/Cyber Monday ads earlier
each year, which allows you to pounce on the deals as soon as they go
live! This shopping list will also help
you stick to a budget by keeping you from buying anything you don’t need like
last-minute cart add-ons that are usually full-price.
2. Sign Up for Store Newsletters and follow Social media
handles of your favorite retailers
If you plan to shop at a particular retailer, be sure to
sign up for their e-newsletter a few weeks before the sale. It’s a great way to
get all the information you need for the sale, without having to scour the internet
for what you need.

3. Sign Up For Amazon Prime
Want to be able to shop before everyone else? Amazon
Prime Members get early access to many of the Lightning Deals on Amazon.
On Cyber Monday, that's a serious advantage, and well worth the price of a
membership. The program also comes with free two-day shipping. Or with order over $25, you get free
shipping as well, even without a Prime account.
4. Pre-Load
Your Shopping Cart
Save valuable
shopping time by pre-loading your shopping cart with the items you want to buy
the day before the sale begins. This trick won't work on every site, but when
it does, it'll get you to checkout a much, much faster.
5. Wake up Early or Stay up Late
Cyber Monday doesn’t start at 9:00 a.m. – it starts at midnight. In other
words, if you wait until the morning to shop, the best deals may be long gone. Also,
find out what time zone each store you want to purchase from is in. If your
favorite online retailer follows East Coast time and you live in California, be
ready to shop at 9:00 p.m. Sunday night.
6. Be Safe
First and foremost, be safe when you shop online. Never purchase from a website
you haven’t heard of, and stay away from deals that are simply too good to be
true. If a website requests your social security number to complete a
transaction, leave immediately. Finally,
make sure your antivirus and security software are both up to date.
With all the tips above, you will be ready for the Black
Friday!
