6 Easy Steps To A Beautiful Christmas Nail Design

Christmas is imminent! Millions of homes are soon to be filled with the smell of freshly baked cookies, pine, and…nail polish remover? Hopefully you’ve finished all of your shopping so you can relax and get ready to celebrate with your loved ones, but you still have to get your holiday ensemble, including your nails, on point.

There are many amazing holiday nail tutorials out there, like this snowflake design by Francy Pera
Stunning!

Or this vintage mistletoe look by JaeMarie2008.
Gorgeous!

For the DIY nail art beginner who is not yet comfortable with detail painting, here MelodySusie made a tutorial for a Christmas nail design that’s simple yet still guaranteed to turn heads and spark conversation. This is a tutorial for gel polish so it requires a home nail drying lamp, but the end result is a longer-lasting and professional-looking finish.
Simple and Beautiful Holiday Nail Design

Tools used:
MelodySusie Party Queen 1-Step Gel Nail Polish: Three of the six colors in this collection will be used (Champagne Rose, Viridian Ring, Flaming Red).
MelodySusie Violetiel Pro24W LED Nail Lamp: We’ll be using the one-touch 30-second timer function.
MelodySusie 2-in-1 Base/Top Coat: Although all of our gel polishes can be used alone, we’re going to use a top coat as well for extra staying power when we tear open our gifts.
- Nail art tape of your choice (we used a nice gold).

Got everything ready? Let’s begin!

Step 1
Apply a single coat of Champagne Rose

Tip: Go for a thin application first. Too little is better than too much, and you can always apply additional coats if you need to.

Step 2
Cure for 30 seconds under an LED nail lamp

Tip: You can choose to wear protective gloves for extra protection.

Step 3
Apply a coat of Flaming Red diagonally across your nail. Cure for 30 seconds.

Tip: Add additional coats for a darker shade.

Step 4
Apply a coat of Viridian Ring diagonally from the other direction. Cure for 30 seconds.

Tip: You may find it useful to paint a guideline first, then fill in the remaining space.

Step 5
Frame both colors with nail tape.

Step 6
Apply a layer of 2-in-1 top coat. Cure for 30 seconds.

Tip: Again, the top coat is optional, but it protects your nail color for a longer-lasting shine.

And that’s it! Repeat the process for each of your nails and you’ll have an awesome holiday look that should last until the new year.
